A driver who offered a Oak Bay police officer a chance to appear on TikTok ended up being investigated for impaired driving.
The 20-year-old man made the suggestion about 10 p.m. Feb. 20 after he was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign near King George Terrace and Beach Drive.
The offer to be on TikTok, an online social networking service for sharing videos, was turned down by the officer.
Instead, the driver’s vehicle was towed, his licence was suspended for 24 hours and he received a $230 ticket for operating a motor vehicle with cannabis in it. He was also issued $167 ticket for not stopping at the stop sign.
