A whopping $117 million in total prizes are up for grabs in Tuesday night's Lotto Max draw.

The largest lottery prize total in Canadian history is up for grabs.

With no winner last week, the Lotto Max prize total has reached a record-breaking $117 million, including a $70-million jackpot.

Tuesday's draw will also include an estimated 47 $1-million Maxmillions prizes.

The huge prizes are creating a lottery buzz, and certainly could put a shine on a year punctuated by COVID-19 and continued restrictions.

No Canadian lottery has ever reached this amount of total prizes before, the BC Lottery Corporation says.

The previous record Lotto Max draw occurred on Oct. 26, 2018, and was $116 million combined, with a $60-million jackpot plus 56 Maxmillions prizes.

So far in 2021, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $56 million in winnings from Lotto Max.

Odds of winning the big one are 1 in 33,294,800.
