New West residents are able enjoy an evening of trivia and fun from the comfort of home while supporting a good cause.

You can help raise funds for Queen’s Park Healthcare Foundation by taking part in a virtual trivia night fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. Pacific time. After registering, participants will receive an email containing a live link to the game – which features players from across Canada and the United States.

“Due to COVID-19, the Queen's Park Healthcare Foundation has had to cancel our other fundraising events planned for this year,” said Lizz Kelly, executive director. “Support of this event would be gratefully appreciated.”

It’s $20 to take part in the virtual trivia night, which can be played on a computer or a mobile phone. Along with bragging rights, contestants will be vying for a $500 prize for first place, a $250 prize for second place and a $100 prize for third place.

According to the foundation, funds raised will help Queen’s Park Care Centre to provide rehabilitation excellence for patients on their journey to recovery and supportive care within a living environment for seniors who are unable to live at home.

To register for the event or to make a donation to the Queen’s Park Health Care Centre, go to www.eventbright.com and search for QPHF Virtual Trivia Night Fundraiser.
