Richmond non-profit societies can now apply for the city’s annual community grant program.

Every year, grants are given to non-profit societies aiming to improve the quality of life for the city’s residents in four areas.

Applications must be within the following categories:

  • Arts and culture
  • Child care
  • Health, social and safety
  • Parks, recreation and community events

Funding for grants come from the gaming revenue received through the Province of B.C.’s Host Local Government agreement.

Applications will be accepted online to reduce person-to-person contact.

Those who have submitted applications before can access their previous year’s applications through the online system.

“The City of Richmond supports a quality of life for all its residents,” says the city in a media release.

“City council recognizes that one way of helping to achieve this goal is through annual grant programs that support the work of not-for-profit, community service organizations.”

Deadline for applications is on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
