There have been 36 new COVID-19 cases detected in Richmond in the past week (Sept. 17-24), bringing the total to 255 since the beginning of the pandemic.
New case numbers crept up to double digits in Richmond at the end of August – this week’s new cases, as reported by the BC Centre for Disease Control, are the highest so far.
The previous week's total number of new cases was 28.
The province also reported the second highest number of cases in a 24-hour period on Thursday with Dr. Bonnie Henry, the provincial health officer, reporting 148 new cases across the province. There are 60 people in hospital of which 20 are in intensive care.
Richmondites can get tested for COVID-19 at the Richmond Assessment Centre, 6820 Gilbert Rd. in the parking lot of the tennis club.
