Police have identified a new area of interest in Richmond related to a recent murder in Vancouver, and are asking for dashcam video to help their investigation.

Iqubal Grewal, 23, was found dead in front of a house near Knight Street and 64th Avenue in Vancouver Sept. 16, around 7:30 p.m. Vancouver police (VPD) said they believe the murder is related to gang activity.

Shortly afterwards, a torched GMC Terrain – which has been linked to the case – was found near Kartner Road and Westminster Highway in Richmond. The VPD previously appealed for dashcam video from that area.

Police are now looking for dashcam video captured between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sept. 16, in the area of Westminster Highway between Knight Street and Nelson Road.

“Investigators are making progress in this case and are thankful for the video they have received from the public so far,” said Const. Tania Visintin with the VPD.

“Their investigation has led them to ask for additional video in a new area.”

Anyone with information or dashcam video from the area is asked to call investigators at 604-717-2500.
