Parents of students at four more North Shore schools are being warned their kids may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Administrators at Queen Mary Elementary and Carson Graham Secondary in North Vancouver and Sentinel Secondary and Ecole Cedardale in West Vancouver have sent letters to parents so far this week.

In the Carson Graham case, an entire Grade 12 class has been told to self-isolate after being exposed on Nov. 18 and 19. Parents were informed via letter on Tuesday. The letter doesn’t specify whether it was a student or teacher but it says Vancouver Coastal Health contact tracers are working to reach anyone who may be at risk.

The Queen Mary school community received their notice on Sunday after a Grade 6 class was exposed on Nov. 16, 17 and 18. In that case, the students are being asked to self-monitor for any symptoms.

In the Cedardale case, VCH has determined that students in the Division 1, Grade 7 class should self-monitor for symptoms, after an exposure occurred on Nov. 20

“Families of students in this class have already received a separate email with that information. If you have not received a phone call from public health, your risk of exposure is considered to be very low. All students should continue to come to school,” the letter stated. “The health authority will determine if anyone in the school community was in contact with the person who tested positive for COVID-19 while they were potentially infectious. Only the health authority can determine who is a close contact.”

On Wednesday, Sentinal Secondary parents received a letter with similar language warning of an exposure on Nov. 16, although it does not specify any individual class or cohort.
