New York style loft/condos come to New Westminster

Bold, forward-thinking design an Aragon Properties trademark

While most new condo buildings boast expansive windows and open layouts, award-winning Aragon Properties’ newest community is paying tribute to the lofts of yesteryear. Welcome to Light House, where each of the 87 loft-inspired condos are enhanced by reclaimed brick feature walls in the living space.

“We were so successful with Glass House, our earlier community in Port Royal, that we decided to reinvent again those wide, shallow loft-style homes with lots of windows and unique features that Aragon is known for,” says Luke Ramsay, development manager for Aragon Properties. “On the top floor units, you’ll see 23-foot floor-to-ceiling brick walls.”

Light House is a collection of 87 homes, ranging from 618 to 1,726 square feet of distinctively conceived living space. Besides the dramatic exposed custom brick walls with wall-mounted linear electric fireplaces, each home features wall-length folding eclipse doors, dramatically high 10+-foot ceilings in most living spaces, engineered white oak hardwood floors and master bedroom barn doors.

“The 12 to16-feet large folding glass window walls, which fold all the way in, open up to decks, while blurring the line between the indoors and outdoors,” says Ramsay. “The top floor homes are two levels with large rooftop decks with stunning city, mountain and water views.”

The epicurean kitchens come outfitted with islands, quartz countertops, smoked mirror backsplash in select homes, custom designed black stainless hood fan cover for drama, custom cabinetry, and professional grade stainless-steel Monogram appliances.

Aragon’s in-house interior designer Maria Zoubos, Director of Interior Design, took muchof her inspiration from “keeping the spaces light but also introducing some of the industrial elements of the neighbourhood without feeling too heavy.”

She went on to explain: “We have kept the palettes fresh and added pops of black detailing and our signature reclaimed brick walls sourced from salvaged buildings across the country, which we repurpose to give them new life.”

Nestled against backdrop of the Fraser River, Light House’s L-shaped design offers more view homes as well as space for people to gather. A central, landscaped courtyard has outdoor seating and a children’s play area, as well as the resident-only amenity building with a fully equipped private gym, party room and outdoor barbeque area encourages a real sense of community.

As a growing suburban district, Queensborough’s Port Royal is a stunning redeveloped waterfront area, featuring a community garden, a river trail system, and its piece de resistance the park itself. Aragon’s Port Royal master-planned community, a 52-acre site, has been two decades in the making, and is already becoming a landmark neighbourhood in Western Canada’s oldest city.

No longer the shy younger sister of the Royal City, Queensborough is a vibrant and active community. Inspired by New Westminster’s heritage and diversity, this well-established enclave is undergoing a growing spurt; yet manages to retains its small-town charm.

There’s so much to love here. A neighborhood favorite, Port Royal Park offers everything the outdoor/sports enthusiasts and young children love – This six-acre park boasts a children’s playground, Trellised picnic area, as well as garden plots for its residents.

A one-stop destination for fashionistas, foodies and shoppers of all stripes, Queensborough Landing offers a host of fabulous brand name clothing, home décor, factory outlet shops, dining, and grocery and amenities options.

With more than three decades of excellence in building quality homes people want to live in, award-winning Aragon Properties is the major player in the growth and revitalization of Queensborough’s riverfront district.

These avant garde condos boasting proximity to urban amenities, a short stroll to green space, and easy access to public transportation offers the best of urban living, with a brick aesthetic rarely seen in today’s new builds.

With prices starting at $545,900, Light House homes will not last long.
