A Maple Ridge resident and grade 4/5 teacher at Mundy Road elementary school in Coquitlam, Deutschmann shows his techniques on how to capture images of animals using pencil crayons.
Deutschmann is a self-taught artist who “accidentally discovered” coloured pencils about seven years ago; he is also now exploring pastels as a medium.
