INDIE AUTHOR

Celebrate Indie Author Day with the Coquitlam Public Library as it hosts a virtual talk with Nilofar Shidmehr, an award-winning writer who’s currently an instructor in the Liberal Arts Program and Adults 55+ Program at SFU. ART SHOWS

Book a spot to view two new exhibits at Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) in person. Desiree deRuiter’s Eons — a series featuring mezzotints, etchings and sculptures — is in mezzanine while Zenobia Turnbull’s Western Landscapes (below) is in the Leonore Peyton Salon. WRITERS' TALK

Hear from award-winning author Caroline Adderson about how to create story characters, in an online workshop presented by the Port Moody Public Library (100 Newport Dr.). Her talk is from 10 a.m. to noon. To register, visit portmoodylibrary.ca.

LIVE COMEDY

Mike Delamont returns to the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) for two live shows on his Socially Distant Comedy Tour, at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. A Canadian Comedy Award nominee, Delamont is best known for his God Is A Scottish Drag Queen series.
