You can drive right up to this fright in Port Coquitlam on Halloween night

Unique event aims to serve up some spooky fun safely
Trunk 'N Treat
Shirley McMillan and her 1957 Chevy Bel Air will be part of a contingent of more than a dozen frightfully decorated cars participating in a socially-distant drive-thru "Trunk 'N Treat" event at the Cat and Fiddle Pub in Port Coquitlam on Halloween night, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Cat and Fiddle pub in Port Coquitlam has a new drive-thru.

But instead of offering cocktails and chicken wings to go, this one doles out tricks and treats. And it’s operating for one night only.

Saturday, more than a dozen decorated cars — many of them restored classics — will take over the parking lot at the venerable watering hole to offer families a socially-distanced Halloween “Trunk ’N Treat” experience.

Ghouls and goblins of all description will be on hand to guide visitors through the drive-thru safely, maintaining distance while doling out candy from 5 to 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the best decorated trunk and best costumes.

Organizer Shirley McMillan said there’s still room for more vehicles. For more information, or to enter your car, email her at shirleymcm60@yahoo.ca.
