More than 100,000 spectators will line shorelines to take in the annual Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival this June 23-25.

While some of the world’s best paddlers are out on the water, there’s still plenty of talent to experience and explore on dry land.

Children of all ages will delight in the sights of daring performers from Circus West, dance alongside the World Beat Stage (parents, there’s some jazz and funk for you, too), as well as dart from food booth to food booth to try the shortbread and chocolate (and hot sauce for the more courageous bunch).

Once satiated you’ll want to check out the 11th annual Portobello West market at the Creekside Community Centre, which will have close to 90 local vendors showcasing some of Canada’s most talented artisans. Among the wares, you’ll find the latest in fashion trends, jewellery, home décor, art, handmade toys and even more delicious delectables—including some of Vancouver’s renowned wineries.

Once you’re done shopping, be sure to stop and watch the Inaugural Barrier Free Canada Cup and the Survivor Showdown, which pits prostate and breast cancer survivors against each other in a friendly race.

Are you interested in becoming a vendor at the Concord Pacific Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival? Local businesses are welcome to register by calling 604-688-2382 or online at portobellowest.com or at vancouverdragonboatfestival.ca/thingstodo/sponsorsandvendors.
