Queen of Cap sees cancelled sailings evening of Sept. 12

The Queen of Capilano is getting some TLC Sept. 12 but not until after the polls closed for the community centre referendum (8 p.m.).

The last five sailings of that Saturday (starting with the 8:50 p.m. from Bowen) will be cancelled while the ferry undergoes “necessary repairs overnight,” said a BC Ferries press release.

The last scheduled Queen of Capilano run is at 7:15 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay.

A foot-passenger-only water taxi will run in the Cap’s stead at 8:50 pm Leaving Snug Cove , 9:20 pm Leaving Horseshoe Bay, 9:50 pm Leaving Snug Cove, 10:20 pm Leaving Horseshoe Bay and 10:50 pm Leaving Snug Cove.

The water taxi will leave from the government dock on the Bowen end and on the Horseshoe Bay end, customers will be given directions at the foot passenger booth. The water taxi will be free and masks will be mandatory.
