It’s a beautifully restored heritage home that will be greeting those entering the new community of Southlands.
The Alexander/Gunn farmhouse in the 6400 block of 3rd Avenue in Tsawwassen was built around 1890 by Robert Alexander, the son of Irish immigrants.
His homestead originally extended from the U.S. border to 3rd Avenue.
In 1897 he sold the house and most of the farm to the Gunn family.

The original portion of the house was used only for farm workers but a later addition was made for a family home.
General deterioration and settling occurred and the house, despite having many original features, was showing its age before the frontier-style home was restored by the Century Group around 20 years ago.
It’s currently occupied by Southlands project manager Brad Semke and his wife Annemarie.
