delta optimist flashback

These May 1970 photos from the Optimist show the opening of a new service station at the Ladner Shopping Centre on Ladner Trunk Road. Partners Orville Ruetz and Murk Hillverda, who were in business together for 15 years at the time, opened the station that was adjacent to an existing station they had operated. The current owners have successfully rezoned the station to have a Triple O's eatery which is now being built. Auto repair service will be gone.
