Since 2010, the Guichon grandchildren have come together each summer to hold a Corn and Potato Fundraiser in memory of their Grandma Lorraine, who passed away in 2009 and their Grandpa Jack, who passed away in 2018.
All proceeds from the sale of corn and potatoes are donated to Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation in honour of their grandparents, who had received amazing care at Delta Hospital.
This year, the Guichon’s have made the difficult choice to change their event to best protect their customers during COVID-19.
For the month of September, donations to DHCHF will be accepted through a fundraising page on the Foundation’s website at: https://dhchfoundation.ca/, as well as donation tins at Backroads Family Farm Market.
To date, this special family fundraiser has raised more than $31,000 for priority needs at Delta Hospital and receives tremendous support from the community.
This year being their 10th annual fundraiser, the Guichon’s have set a goal to hit a 10-year total of $35,000.
Customers often share their own stories of the wonderful care they had experienced at Delta Hospital, reinforcing for the family why they chose to support their local hospital.
