PHOTOS: Walk for Alzheimer’s huge success in Delta

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s flagship fundraiser that took place on Sunday, May 5 at Delta Secondary in Ladner.

Magical, uplifting, feel good event…..were just a few of the things that were used to explain the Inaugural South Delta IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s.

With more than 300 people, including families and pets, turning out to the Walk and great contributions of funds, the event was an amazing success. Funds raised will go towards local support and learning opportunities for people living with dementia and their families and enable research into the causes and cure.

The competition level between the teams to achieve bragging rights was great with Team Powell, headed by Ron and Geramy Powell, in the lead and Team Live Well not too far behind. What was heart-warming was the support the event received. The beautiful Wall of Memories was testament to this.

“This is South Delta taking the first step in the powerful movement to make our community a dementia-friendly community,” said Walk chair Youla Thomas. “A well organized and successful Walk was the feedback from everyone.”
