In March, as the severity of COVID-19 came to light, residents at The Waterford and The Wexford in Tsawwassen retreated to their suites and turned on their TVs.

That's when they met Dr. Bonnie Henry for the first time.

Months later, with a successfully flattened curve, these seniors are sending messages of thanks to the Provincial Health Officer.

“I watch with pride as you deliver your daily calm and comforting message to the people of British Columbia,” wrote Ella in a card addressed to Dr. Henry. “You are an inspiration to us all as we try to embrace your hope for a future that will bring its own challenges.”

Bria residents and staff sent dozens of messages of thanks in the form of handwritten cards, smiling photos and a video message directly to Dr. Henry in Victoria.

“In our homes, Dr. Henry is the undisputed expert on everything related to the pandemic,” says Janice Miller, Marketing Partner for the two seniors’ communities. “Her leadership has had a direct impact on every one of our residents and staff, and we don't want to miss the opportunity to say 'thank you'!”
