The discovery of the new Omicron COVID-19 variant means even further demand for masks from a Delta-based manufacturer.

Micron Technologies, a subsidy of Beyond Medical Technologies Inc., is currently operating two shifts per day to manufacture three-ply medical grade face masks.

The masks offer three layers of protection and feature an adjustable nose clip designed to protect both front-line workers and consumers.

Micron Technologies has been operating at its Tilbury facility since August 2020, where it manufactures the face masks under its Medical Device Establishment License issued by Health Canada. Micron Technologies is also registered with the US Food and Drug Administration, the company said.

Micron Technologies’ medical grade face masks are available to purchase through Walmart, Amazon and Shopify. They have achieved the status of ‘#1 best seller’ on Amazon.

In response to the discovery of a new variant the Canada has implemented a travel ban on several African countries including South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini.
