Vancouver McDonald's restaurant employee tests positive for COVID-19

A worker at a McDonald's location in Vancouver has recently been confirmed as having the coronavirus (COVID-19).

McDonald's Canada posted the new case to its online tracker, indicating the following affected restaurant in the region:

  • 1701 Robson St, Vancouver: Last day the restaurant employee worked was March 4

McDonald's Canada has posted the address on its site as 1706 Robson, however, the restaurant is located at 1701 Robson on the corner of Bidwell Street.

This McDonald's location is not considered a public exposure risk by Vancouver Coastal Health.

On March 2, the corporate office of the fast-food giant indicated a restaurant employee at the popular Vancouver McDonald's location near Science World had been confirmed as having the virus. That worker was last on the job on February 28. 

Currently, McDonald's Canada is listing eight restaurants in British Columbia with infected employees, including the newest listing for the Robson Street location in Vancouver.

McDonald's Canada says it has "maintained a commitment to remain transparent in our communications, so that restaurant employees and guests are informed and can contact their local public health authorities for directions, if needed."

"For any guests who may have visited the restaurant and have questions, please take directions from your local public health experts," says McDonald's Canada.
