Around Town: Test your knowledge at Trivia Night in Ladner

Multi-award-winning entertainers Jordan "the Card Wizard" Vo and Care "the storyteller" Elise bring Magic Cabaret, an adult-friendly evening of magic, mystery and mentalism, to the Tsawwassen Arts Centre. The show is set for tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Singers, poets, actors, writers, musicians and composers are welcome to hit the stage to showcase their talents at a pair of upcoming Open Mic nights hosted by the City of Delta. The first is on Wednesday, March 27 at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre, while the second is on Friday, March 29 at the Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre in North Delta. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Admission is $5.


ElderCollege Delta is offering a trio of special presentations as part of its spring semester. The first, A Not So Savage Land: The Art and Times of Frederick Whymper, will be presented by author Peter Johnson on Saturday, March 30. Presented by historian Christopher Gainor, Who Killed the Avro Arrow? is on Saturday, April 13, while the series wraps up on Saturday, April 27 with Murder and Myth: Jack the Ripper and the Royal Family with Dr. Simon Devereaux. All presentations will be held at Cedar Park Church in Ladner from 10 a.m. to noon. Admission is free with a $10 ElderCollege Delta annual membership. Registration is required.


Put your pop culture knowledge to the test to win prizes when Delta Gymnastics hosts a Trivia Night on Saturday, April 6 at the Ladner Community Centre. Tables of eight are $240 or $35 per person. Each table includes two pizzas. Bring your own appies, while Four Winds beer and red and white wine will be available for purchase. Proceeds go to gym renovation.
