Ladner’s Dave Lemire will take to the stairs at Fred Gingell Park once again to help raise money for B.C. Children’s Hospital.

The fourth edition of Climb for Kids will take place Saturday, May 5 at Fred Gingell Park in Tsawwassen.

Dave Lemire and a group of his coworkers from the Tsawwassen Save-On-Foods are putting on the fundraiser event, which will see a team from the grocery store continuously climb the park’s stairs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lemire, 58, who has raised thousands for B.C. Children’s Hospital with previous events, says the community is excited about the fundraiser.

“It’s such a good event,” he says.

Those from the store helping put the event together are Rajan Anand, Peggy Coonfer and Shirley Quakenbush.

“People stand at the top and cheer everybody on,” says Coonfer.

A pancake breakfast, with involvement from the Delta Fire Department, is scheduled to start at 8 a.m.

Donations will be accepted at the event and online at
