It’s been under the direction of music director Jim Tempest for more than 12 years and is generally recognized as one of the top community bands in B.C.

Set for Saturday, April 27, the KinVillage concert will feature well-known favourites such as a medley of Disney hits, the all-time chart-topping tunes of singing great Tom Jones and movie scores from Jurassic Park, plus many more.

Downbeat for the KinVillage concert is 2:30 p.m. and admission is by donation.

The next opportunity to hear Delta Concert Band is Saturday, May 25 when it plays at Ladner May Days at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park. After that a joint concert with the Seaquam Secondary Concert Band in the Seaquam theatre is on tap for the evening of Tuesday, May 28.

The band will join community bands from all over the Lower Mainland and even further afield for the always-popular Ladner Bandfest at Memorial Park on the weekend of June 1 and 2. This excellent annual event is organized by the Delta Music Makers community band and the Delta Concert Band is scheduled to play on the Sunday at 1 p.m.

On Sunday, July 7 the band plays a special afternoon concert at Trinity Church in Point Roberts along with Richmond Community Band and Royal City Concert Band.

On Saturday, July 20 the musical sounds of the band will be heard against a backdrop of “magnificent flying machines” at the annual Boundary Bay Airshow at Boundary Bay Airport.

That’s followed by the band’s annual Concert in the Park, sponsored by the City of Delta, on Tuesday, July 30 with a 7:30 p.m. downbeat at Sunshine Hills Park in North Delta.
