“In this program, emerging musical stars of the future have the opportunity to rehearse and perform with a full orchestra and professional conductor,” the Richmond Orchestra’s website states. “The talent these young people display on their instruments is only matched by the artistry and passion with which they perform.”

Tromans was one of the winners of the Richmond Music Festival Concerto Challenge last November.

Tromans won the junior division of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music's Future of Excellence Competition in 2016. He performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor with the VSO in 2017.

The Rising Stars concert is set for Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Fraserview MB Church, 11295 Mellis Dr., Richmond.
