Sidekick Players will be staging The Best Brothers by Daniel MacIvor at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre in April.

An eccentric modern comedy by one of Canada's most celebrated playwrights, the play deals with life, death, aging parents and brothers who simply refuse to grow up.

The Best Brothers is the first MacIvor play Sidekick has produced.

“It’s very funny, but it’s a black comedy,” says director Carroll Lefebvre. “There are times you really want to laugh but aren’t sure you should.”

The brothers are Hamilton, played by Jeff Pannell, and Kyle, played by Todd-Elliot Gates.

“It’s been a real journey for all of us during rehearsals, with lots of discussion and soul searching at times.” said Lefebvre.

The Best Brothers runs from April 17 to 27 with evening performances at 8 p.m. There will also be a matinee on Saturday, April 20 at 2 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended as performances sell out quickly. Call 604-288-2415.
