It will be all about the animals this Sunday at Ladner’s Memorial Park.

The Delta Community Animal Shelter presents the 10th annual Delta Community Animal Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bring your leashed friendly dog(s) and check out local vendors and pet organizations, participate in fun activities like the famous poop through the hoop or get the collar on the dog contests, win prizes and more.

Throughout the day there will be demonstrations in the Tollie Fund Arena like dancing dogs, doggie agility and scent tracking. There will also be pets on hand that are up for adoption.

Nat Hunter from 103.5 QMFM will be making an appearance in the afternoon and helping with some of the contests.

This annual family event brings awareness and fundraising to Delta’s Tollie Fund, which helps the shelter go above and beyond to provide veterinary assistance, behaviour rehabilitation and other types of enrichment and support to help Delta’s shelter animals have a chance at a healthy adoption.

Shelter manager Ryan Voutilainen is looking forward to another great event.

“The venue itself is the same, but we have changed the set-up to make things a little friendlier for those who are attending,” he said. “We have 45 vendors – the most we have ever had, so everything from vet hospitals to animal rescue organizations as well as those who sell pet products. We have someone here who does pet photography, a lot of demonstrations as well. The event has something for everyone – lots of educational and awareness opportunities as well.”
