Watch: Caught in gunfire, B.C. family recounts chaos in Coquitlam

"It was pretty scary."

Neh Jaiswal and Siddharth Shah were front and centre to an ongoing police pursuit of a suspect involved in a string of crimes across the Tri-Cities.

The B.C. couple were even in the line of fire as RCMP were chasing a suspect allegedly involved in a Port Coquitlam robbery between 3:40 and 4 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 22).

"It was pretty scary," Jaiswal told Glacier Media, who was in the passenger seat as Siddharth was driving along Highway 1 eastbound before the King Edward Street overpass.

They saw a man running from police after crashing a vehicle on the westbound side of the stretch.

It's since been confirmed the vehicle was stolen from the Journey Approved dealership (1881 Lougheed Hwy.) after four individuals carrying firearms robbed staff and patrons of their wallets, phones and jewelry.
