Ladner’s All Saints Anglican Church is resuming its free community meal, but it’s going to look a little different.

The church at the corner of Arthur Drive and Ladner Trunk Road has provided a free hot meal once a month for the last few years.

With the outbreak of COVID-19 it had to stop but it’s now in a position to start serving meals to the community once again.

The next meal will be on Tuesday, June 23. It will be takeout only and can be collected from the church between 6 and 7 p.m.

The meal will consist of a main (probably some sort of casserole), salad, a roll and a sweet for dessert.

Food will be prepared under strict guidelines, with social distancing in the kitchen and strict cleaning and sanitizing, protocols.

There will be hand sanitizer available at the door where the meals will be distributed and the person handing out the meals will be wearing gloves and a mask. There will also be clear markings so everyone can social distance.

Organizers say they are pleased to have been given permission to restart the program, although it is under very different conditions.
