Katherine Praski and Reg Boaler took home honours last week as the Ambassadors Toastmasters held their annual fall speech competition.

Praski won first place for her humorous speech, "It Won't Happen to Me!" Boaler won first place in the table topics contest, which demands the speaker compose a two-minute speech, on the spot, in response to a question posed at the contest.

The finalists now move on to the Toastmasters Area Speech Contest, which will be held at the South Arm Community Centre, 8880 Williams Rd., Richmond, on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. Guests are always welcome to Toastmasters meetings.

Praski and Boaler will have the opportunity to compete against finalists from the Deltones and Richmond Toastmasters clubs.
