A record year for Tsawwassen Springs Festival of Lights

Holiday event has raised nearly $100,000 in three years for Delta Hospital + Community Health Foundation

Another hugely successful Festival of Lights at Tsawwassen Springs has pushed the total fundraising effort to nearly $100,000 for the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation in just three years.

The annual event gets underway in late November and runs through the holiday season. Members of the local business community sponsor a Christmas tree that they also decorate.

Those 100 or so trees, all generously donated by Harris Nursery, were available for nightly viewing on the Tsawwassen Springs grounds, near the clubhouse. Donations were also collected on site.

This year’s Festival of Lights raised a record $39,155 that will go towards the purchase of towards the purchase of two new Cardiac Monitors for the Emergency Department at Delta Hospital. That's $7,000 more raised than a year ago and brings the three-year total to $98,425.

The public also has the opportunity to vote for their favourite tree in a couple of categories.

The Best Decorated Tree went to Spartan Exteriors LTD. Peak Products was named runner-up.

The Most Imaginative Tree went to Amber Baird and Jennifer Dupuis of Sutton Group Seafair Reality. Westcoast Vegetables earned runner-up.
