Spring is finally here with its longer, warmer days, and the Earthwise Garden is returning to life.

Thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers, the garden has been cleaned up, redesigned, and replanted, and flowers are starting to blossom, but there is still plenty of work to be done, and Earthwise is hoping to recruit some more helping hands.

Would you like to learn more about Earthwise Society and discover what you can do to contribute towards a healthier and more sustainable community? If so, then mark April 7 on your calendar as Earthwise will welcome new and returning volunteers as they kick off the spring growing season with a Zoom volunteer orientation session.

This one-hour session, which starts at 7 p.m., will discuss the benefits of volunteering at Earthwise and explore the different types of opportunities that are available. For new recruits, there will be a question and answer session with seasoned volunteers, who will share their favourite Earthwise volunteering experiences and answer any questions you may have.

If you are passionate about gardening, or have another skill that you would like to share, Earthwise would love to meet you. This information session is a great way to learn how you can get in touch with nature while giving back to your community, and meet others with similar interests.

Volunteering at Earthwise Society is not just for those who have a green thumb. Earthwise focuses on a wide range of community sustainability issues including food security, environmental awareness and education, and mental health. No matter what your interest, there is sure to be an opportunity that will suit you.

To register for the Zoom session, contact Earthwise at: [email protected] or call 604-946-9828.
