Celebrate a life by decorating tree at Delta Hospice centre

Annual tradition allows public to pay tribute to loved one

For 19 years, Delta Hospice's Celebrate a Life Tree has glowed with the memories of those we have lost.

This year you are invited to honour the shining stars who have been in your life or who are in your life now.

The ceremony includes writing the loved one's name on a tribute card and placing it on the Celebrate a Life Tree. An identical card is available for you to take home as a keepsake.

Donations are gratefully accepted in support of Delta Hospice programs and patient care, but are not required.

Placing a tribute to a lost loved one on the tree becomes symbolic of the love and memories that we carry in our heart and helps us to remember the experiences we share or have shared.

Delta Hospice invites the community to visit this year's Celebrate a Life Tree at the Harold & Veronica Savage Centre for Supportive Care, 4631 Clarence Taylor Cres., across from the Ladner Leisure Centre.

Tributes can be made Dec. 5 to 22, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 3: 30 p.m.

Throughout December, the Celebrate a Life Tree fills with hundreds of tributes and stories are exchanged between families and volunteers.

Helpful information about how to cope with grief during holidays is also available at the centre.
