Celebrate Canada Day at Kirkland House

Kirkland House in Ladner will host a Canada Day event on Friday for the first time in three years.

For the first time in three years Kirkland House in Ladner will host a Canada Day celebration on Friday.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. on July 1. Kirkland House is located at 4140 Arthur Drive at Hawthorne Grove Park.

The house band (featuring Harold Solverson and friends) will begin the festivities with a performance followed by O Canada from 2021 Delta’s Got Talent winner Brooke Hamilton.

The Delta Pipe Band will be on hand for a performance at 12:30 p.m.

There will be a formal presentation later in the afternoon featuring local dignitaries as well as Kirkland House Society president Colin Campbell will pay the annual rent – a Toonie to Delta Mayor George Harvie.

There will be fun events for kids on the area ground, spinners and weavers will be located inside Kirkland House with demonstrations as well as a loom set up for kids to give it a try and the train room will be in full display in the basement of Kirkland House. There will also be tours of the historic Kirkland House.

The Kirkland Scouts with have refreshments including hot dogs for sale throughout the afternoon.
