Love and kindness were in the air at Delta Secondary School last month.

As part of a Valentine’s Day flowergram initiative, staff and students raised $150 for the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation.

Staff and students bought flowers and sent a written note for friends or loved ones. The initiative was organized by members of the school’s Interact Club who sold flowergrams in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day. A small group of Interactors then attached notes to carnations and delivered them to the lucky recipients on Friday, Feb. 12. In total, 140 flowergrams were sold and delivered.

“The Interact flowergram sale was a huge success. With the help and contribution of our school community, we were able to raise money for charity while also spreading kindness and cheer,” said Aishwariya Sharma and Gabrielle Valle, two of the organizers of the flowergram initiative.
