Eldercollege Delta is continuing its special Zoom presentations to keep seniors in our community connected.

The next presentation is on Friday, March 26 on the field of forensics named Murder and Maggots.

Forensics uses science in a practical way to make a difference in people's lives whether it is in overturning the wrongly convicted (Innocence Project) Truscott, Brewer, and Lobato cases or providing expert testimony in homicides such as in the Robert Picton trial.

Presenter Dr. Gail Anderson, the award-winning Canadian and International Entomologist and co-director of the Centre for Forensic Research and Forensic Entomology will describe, with examples, the role of insects in this vital work.

In these investigations she is the only person that the RCMP and the police in Canada will allow at a crime scene.

If you enjoy watching the popular Forensic Files series you are sure to enjoy what she has to say about what she does and how she does it plus have the opportunity to ask questions.

Next up, mark your calendars for Wednesday May 5, when Eldercollege welcomes Dr. Puqun Li for his presentation entitled, the Religions of the World: The Demise of Confucianism.

He will present the many facets of Confucianism and explain how, although it has faded away as a religion, in another sense, it is still kicking, struggling, and even booming.

Li is a philosophy instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and also teaches an East and West Comparative Philosophy online course for Athabasca University. His areas of specialization and interests are Wittgenstein, Asian Philosophy and Comparative Philosophy.
