The Delta Museum and Archives Society's annual Holiday Bazaar next week in Ladner will be its last.

The "Ladies of the Bazaar" have worked hard over the past 30-plus years, raising money for the museum through their annual sales.

However, with the group's membership aging or moving away, and without a younger generation of crafters ready to take over the reins, the dedicated group has decided to make this year its grand finale.

Over the years, the organizers have carefully

refined their inventory. Bazaar shoppers can expect to find a large selection of handcrafted gifts, some of which are so popular they are often pre-ordered.

Handcrafted items, including knit-ware, jewel-ry, holiday decorations and homemade candies, are just some of the gifts available at this year's sale.

The bazaar will also feature a raffle with a first prize of a framed original oil painting titled Evening Flight by local artist Kim Scott of Country Lane Gallery.

Second prize is a 17-inch necklace of hand-strung freshwater pearls with sapphire rondelles and sterling silver findings, and matching earrings created by local artisan Marylile Martin.

Tickets can be purchased at the bazaar for $2 each or three for $5.

The bazaar will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Kin House, 5050-47th Ave.

(next to the Ladner Pioneer Library).

Admission is free and complimentary coffee, tea and cookies will be available for shoppers.

Funds generated from the annual bazaar help support the Delta Museum and Archives Society's efforts to preserve Delta's rich heritage and share its history with the community.
