Members of the Kirkland family held a reunion last Sunday (Sept. 2) at their ancestral home commissioned by W. A. Kirkland in 1910 and built in 1911. The Kirkland family home is now a heritage site owned by Delta and used for community events. His great-grandchildren organized the event, whose grandparents were John and Ester Kirkland and whose parents were Lloyd and Mary (Pat) Kirkland. Around 60 family members that have a rich history and fond memories of the Delta area attended the entire event. The Kirkland family appreciates all the fine work of the volunteers that have donated their time and efforts in the restoration of the house. Six of Lloyd and Mary's (Pat's) children were at the reunion with their children and grandchildren. Some came from Edmonton, Kelowna and Vancouver Island.
