Mayor Lois Jackson is encouraging children and teens in Delta to think green and participate in her annual Garden Contest for Kids.
Kids are encouraged to grow a garden this spring and summer, complete an entry form and submit it along with a date-stamped photo of the garden, any time between Aug. 1 and Sept. 10.
The contest is for those between the ages of five and 16 and is meant to encourage ways to be active outdoors and learn how to garden. Participants are urged to be creative - they can grow a balcony garden, container garden, patio garden or a vegetable garden.
Great prizes, including facility passes and parks, recreation and culture gift certificates, are available to be won.

An entry form and photo must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Sept. 10.
