It’s been a few years coming, but Ladner’s newest eatery is set to open this week.

It was January 2018 when an application to redevelop the Chevron gas station at 5206 Ladner Trunk Rd. to remove the auto service area and replace it with a Triple O’s restaurant went to a public hearing.

Construction finally began last summer on the restaurant, which will not have a drive-thru, but will have indoor seating for 11 and an outdoor patio with 28 seats.

Set to open June 3, the redevelopment also includes an updated Town Pantry convenience store and new landscaping.

It was originally to operate from 6 a.m. to midnight, but following the public hearing the hours were changed for 10 p.m. for the restaurant and 11 p.m., at the latest, for the convenience store.

Saying it’s exciting to see the location finally open, White Spot president and CEO Warren Erhart told the Optimist they’re pleased with the franchise agreements they have with Chevron and that this will be the 23rd Chevron with a Triple O’s.

It’s also the 68th Triple O’s in the system, although only the second without a drive-thru.

Erhart added up to 25 new employees will be hired to run the eatery and convenience store.

The same franchise operator also runs the Chevron/Triple O’s outlet on Highway 10 in East Delta.
