The Operation Christmas Child (OCC) campaign is gearing up for another season of giving in South Delta.

People are encouraged to fill a shoebox with a variety of items for a child in another country. Embark on a rewarding journey alongside other families in your community and shine a light of hope into the lives of children in need worldwide.  In the coming months, Canadians are preparing to fill hundreds of thousands of shoeboxes with new toys, school supplies, and hygiene items.

Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse, has set out to distribute these many gift-filled shoeboxes to children living in desperate circumstances of war, poverty, and disaster in more than 100 countries.

In 2021, 413,975 gift-filled shoeboxes were packed across Canada.

As 2022 has continued to be difficult, these children need hope now more than ever. Often these shoeboxes will be one of the first gifts that these children have ever received, filling them with great joy.

People can use their own shoe boxes or pick up an Operation Christmas Child container from South Delta Baptist Church 1988 56th St. in Tsawwassen.

Boxes can also be picked up at these participating stores: Marks (Tsawwassen Commons), Dollar Store and More (Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall) and Sure Copy (Harbourside Mall Ladner).
