A contingent from OWL paid a visit to the TD Canada Trust in Ladner last Thursday to make a deposit of over $400, proceeds from its Grand Finale Penny Drive. TDs Shelley Stamatiou (left) is pictured with OWLs Bev Day, Ralph Smith and Karen Wheatley. Smith is holding Snoopy, a saw-whet owl, while Wheatley is holding Jessie, a barred owl. Both are non-releasable education birds at OWL, a non-profit group that rehabilitates and releases injured birds of prey. The penny drive will go towards a new home for OWL, which has out grown its current five-acre facility.
