Pebble Hill students raise hundreds for Delta Meals on Wheels

Campaign was part of Leadership Initiative project
Peeble Hill students
Grade 7 students at Pebble Hill Elementary initiated a fundraising campaign that generated $640 Delta Meals on Wheels Society.

The Grade 7 Students of Pebble Hill Elementary, saw the September 23rd Delta Optimist article regarding the Delta Meals on Wheels Society (DMoW) and decided to support it as part of their Leadership Initiative project.
Students brainstormed and agreed to hold a School-Wide Used Book Sale. The Grade 7’s advertised, collected, sorted, and priced books, and during three-day sale at lunch time, raised $640 for Delta Meals on Wheels.
Grade 7 teachers Megan Craven, Paige Hunter, and Alison Hardy were there to provide guidance and said the entire school was excited for reading and supporting a local organization.
DMoW president Maurice Newby, President was at the school Nov. 18 to accept the generous donation. He was grateful and thanked the grade 7’s for their hard work and successful book sale, and expressed his appreciation to the entire school. He was inspired by the young students of Delta!
