Approximately 200 participants took part in this year’s Delta Police Department’s Summer Solstice Run, Walk and Roll. Of that 200, 40 were seniors from some of Delta's assisted living homes, and from the senior's centres. Participants competed either a two km or five km course in Ladner. The Delta Police Pipe band opened the event, as well as a performance from local musicians Jay Esplana, Alvin Brendan, and Paul Clark. The Delta Police Foundation hosted the event raising funds for youth initiatives such as the Student Police Academy.Jim Kinnear Photo
