The pies were flying off the driveway at the Wexford in Tsawwassen last week.
Working around COVID-19 safety measures, Bria Communities celebrated National Senior Day with a free pumpkin pie drive-thru at the Tsawwassen seniors’ residence.
It was up to Wexford chef Leif Soriana to bake the 100 pies after his recipe was selected in a contest among Bria chefs.
As a bonus, drivers were also given a swag bag loaded with goodies from generous community sponsors including Rose & Crown Pub, Flowers Beautiful, Thrifty's Foods, and The Roasted Bean Coffee Shop at Northgate.
“We had such a terrific time connecting with seniors and passing along pie,” said Janice Miller, Marketing Partner for Bria Communities. “We'll definitely be doing a National Seniors Day celebration again next year — it's a really important day for us, but it remains to be seen if we'll do a pie giveaway next year too, or something new and creative.”
