Since its inception almost four decades ago, the leaders of Delta have always appreciated the Delta Leadership Prayer Breakfast.
The purpose of this event, initiated by longtime resident John V. Friesen with pastor Herb Brandt as its first speaker, is to pray for our elected representatives at the municipal, provincial and federal levels.
This gives a quiet demonstration that many men and women in public office place a high priority on the spiritual values within our society.
The 38th anniversary of this community event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11 and will feature Insp. Tim Shields of the RCMP as guest speaker.
The breakfast will take place at the Delta Town & Country Inn at 8 a.m.
