Last month, two teams (one senior 9181W, one junior 9181N) from North Delta’s Seaquam Secondary competed at the third annual Google Vex Robotics Competition.
The event, which features some of the best teams in the world, was held remotely over multiple days.
Congratulations are in order to the junior team who placed first to win the tournament champions award and who have qualified to compete in the World Championship in May.
“Our junior team comprising Grade 10 students Krithik Keshan Tamilselvan, Owen Reid, Carter Jones and Trevor Ruttan made history,” said Mr. Singbeil, Robotics and Engineering teacher. “This is the first time Seaquam has ever won this event and only the second time we’ve competed. Huge congratulations to them for their efforts.
“I also want to recognize our senior team comprising Grade 11 students Julian Pietaroia, Vincent He and Reade Legal. They were up against some of the toughest teams in the world and were still able to make it to the semi-finals. I’m so proud of all of our students for their great work this past weekend.”
Seaquam Secondary has a well-established and successful Robotics academic program, Seaquam Robotics. There are currently six senior teams and six junior teams involved in the program and that compete in the VEX Robotics Competition.
