Ladner's Isabella Halladay plays Brenda Freelander, one of the puppets in Awkward Stage Production's play Smile. The fast-paced and funny musical satire will be staged at the Vancouver International Fringe Festival, which runs from Sept. 8 to 18. Smile is "set behind the scenes at a pageant where a seemingly charming collection of girls is mixed with a win at all costs competition," according the festival's website.
