The South Delta Jazz Festival features concerts through the week.
Along with a handful of noon hour concerts at the Delta Community Music
School, there will be a show at Diefenbaker Park tonight, an open jazz jam session tomorrow at Petra's Arts Kafe and a faculty gala concert Friday at All Saints Anglican Church.
The festival, which had its first concert yesterday, also includes a workshop for students from beginners to adults interested in learning about or improving their jazz improv skills in a small combo setting.
The festival website lists 2015 faculty/guest artists as Len Aruliah (saxophone), Jared Burrows (guitar), Kofi Gbolonyo (jazz and African studies),
Kevin Lee (trumpet), Rob Kohler (bass), Brad Muirhead (trombone, workshop co-director), Stephen Robb (clarinet, saxophone, piano, workshop co-director), Jennifer Scott (voice) and Stan Taylor (drums).
The event is a program of the Delta Community Music School.
