On Saturday June 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall and Bria Communities will partner for a senior-focused celebration to wrap up BC Seniors Week. South Delta Seniors Day will feature live entertainment, food demonstrations, giveaways, and discounts by mall vendors, in addition to 20-plus businesses and organizations that serve seniors in our community.

“We’re excited to bring this event back after three years on hiatus and to connect it to BC Seniors Week,” says Andie Bakehouse, Community Relations Coordinator for Bria Communities seniors living in Tsawwassen. “It’s the perfect way to celebrate and serve seniors living in the South Delta area and to have fun while we’re at it.”

Natalie Chew of Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall notes some exciting new additions this year.

“You can bring your grandkids along; there will be a bouncy castle, kids’ entertainment, face painting and a balloon artist,” said Chew.

Also new this year is the City of Delta pop-up park, “The Rec Room,” will be on-site where ping pong tables, mini-golf, and other games are available for everyone to enjoy. And the Meat 2 Eat food truck will serve its signature Mexican and Greek Cuisine on-site.

The event will be held outdoors in various places around the mall.

In Rotary Square, on the main stage, rock duo Classic Rewind will headline, playing classic graffiti rock ‘n roll from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Artists from Studio Cloud 30 will also provide musical entertainment.

“It’s like a free resource fair for seniors with food and entertainment and lots of perks,” adds Bakehouse.

The Waterford and The Wexford executive chefs will also be on-site doing food demos and giving away delicious samples under the red Bria tents.

“This event really brings the community together. It’s part of the reason Tsawwassen is such a great place for seniors to live,” she said.

The mall will be open as usual, with some featuring special offers for seniors. If it rains, all aspects of the event will move inside the mall.
