The 13-week guided clinic, one of more than 65 across the Lower Mainland and beyond, began last weekend. Last day to register is Feb. 3.

Programs are available for walkers (Walk10K), novice (LearnToRun10K) and more experienced runners (RunFaster10K).

The SportMedBC's training programs intersperse walking with jogging or running in order to safely and gradually improve your fitness ability. Coordinators are experienced health and fitness professionals, and work with a team of enthusiastic SportMedBC-trained volunteers.

Each session offers expert training plus professional advice on shoes, running gear, nutrition, tips for injury prevention, while providing camaraderie.

The $139 (plus HST) clinic fee includes 13-weekly guided training sessions plus a New Balance Lightning Dry Tempo long sleeve, PowerBar performance training package (value $20), Sun Run InTraining Log Book, Sun Run 2012 entry and an event souvenir T-shirt, and an exclusive gift (valued at $65) with $100+ purchase at Alliance Athletics Stores.
